Ratified in November 20, 1989, the Convention on the Rights on the Child is a treaty which defines the rights of children.This document describes the nurturing a child needs in order to become a global citizen. Governments are obligated to ensure that the rights of the child are being met and to periodically make a report for the UN of their progress of achieving these rights. The United Nations appoints experts to ensure the rights are being met.
